Producing the book

Once you have written and corrected your manuscript, the book has to be laid out and produced ready for printing. There are two ways Racing House can do this for you:

PDF Ready

1. You can do all the proof reading and layout yourself or have them done by someone else, then you can send us a PDF file of the completed book with all fonts embedded. The file must conform to our specifications.
2. You can choose a standard cover and send us one image you would like incorporated together with title and cover lines and any information you wish to include on the back cover.
3. We assign the ISBN and incorporate a barcode on the cover.
4. We send your book for printing by POD.
5. We inform the online book sellers, Amazon, Barnes & Noble and notify Bowker's Books in Print, Whitakers, BookData UK and other trade reference sources in the UK and North America.

Publisher Special

1. You select any illustrations that you wish to use. Our package allows you to include up to 10 illustrations, not including the cover, without any extra charge.
2. You decide on a design for the book and the size you want it to be printed. We show a number of different page and cover designs on the website. We can alter them to a degree but we may have to charge if there is significant extra design work, such as tables, involved.
3. You send your word processor file and illustrations to us. We then convert your manuscript to your book format.
4. You select a cover design and a picture for the cover. You may have a suitable picture; if not we can help you find one.
5. We send you a PDF file of the completed version for you to check. You notify us of any corrections. We allow for up to two hours of correcting work in our standard price and return the corrected version to you for checking. When you are satisfied that it is all correct you pass it for publication.
6. We send your book for printing by POD.
7. We add contents page links and bookmarks to the PDF and send it for publication as an ebook.
8. We inform the online book sellers, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ebooks.com, and notify Bowker's Books in Print, Whitakers, BookData UK and other trade reference sources in Europe and North America.
9. We prepare, in consultation with you, a press release to be sent to relevant media, telling them about you book.
10. We send you 25 free copies and 10 A3-sized posters that you can use to publicise your book.
11. We print and deliver your books at £1 per copy off the price for PDF Ready.
